Job Description

Lead - Systems Engineering - Enterprise Project Consultant - Mainframe

Business Unit Overview
 
EI (Enterprise Infrastructure) India started operations in 2004 to help our partners take advantage of the global capability in providing operational support using the follow the sun model. Today the team covers multiple technologies in remote infrastructure support covering production, engineering, application and database support. EI India plays a key role in global workforce augmentation and supports all the EI verticals, including 24X7 operations in some areas. The team’s endeavour has been to provide increased value to our partners through operational excellence and innovation with a focus on stability.
 
Role Description
 
Work with diverse groups of people in multiple geographic locations to plan, document, coordinate, test and implement complex technical projects
 
Roles & Responsibilities
 
  • Partner with EI Mainframe, FSC Operations and Business Unit associates and managers to plan, coordinate and drive execution of technical project implementations
  • Produce and maintain all project documentation including regular status reports
  • Manage projects to milestones and deadlines
  • Plan, coordinate and drive execution of pre-implementation tests
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other project leads to ensure no conflicts
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with Product Management/Procurement, vendors and auditors 
  • Availability for at least half of the US business day
     
Candidate Description
 
List of skills required
 
  • Good understanding of the MVS operating system and subsystems (e.g. CICS, DB2, MQ, WAS)
  • Good understanding of IBM Parallel SysPlex
  • Good understanding of z/OS subsystem interconnection (e.g. CICS connection to DB2)
  • Good understanding of distributed systems to mainframe connectivity
  • Good understanding of data replication
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and SNA networks
  • Working knowledge of tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Project
  • Able to produce and present information at both the technical and executive level
  • Knowledge of Production Support policies such as Incident, Change and Problem Management
  • Has deep expertise in supporting mainframe infrastructure for large/complex implementations
  • Past experience in managing mainframe infrastructure support for financial services firms would be helpful
  • Has successful track record of training associates on mainframe technologies to manage the talent pipeline for the future
  • Proven expertise in building learning culture in the team
  • Is self-aware and always building on strengths and improving on development areas
  • Highly collaborative and can build strong partnerships in multi-cultural environments
  • Cares deeply about people and personally invests in them
  • Thinks and acts strategically
  • Should have a Programming/Coding skills

Education and Experience
