Manager - Software Engineering - Data Science

Business Unit Overview
EI (Enterprise Infrastructure) India started operations in 2004 to help our partners take advantage of the global capability in providing operational support using the follow the sun model. Today the team covers multiple technologies in remote infrastructure support covering production, engineering, application and database support. EI India plays a key role in global workforce augmentation and supports all the EI verticals, including 24X7 operations in some areas. The team’s endeavour has been to provide increased value to our partners through operational excellence and innovation with a focus on stability.
Role Description
  • As a TC level Data Scientist, the candidate responsibilities should include:
  • Develop, deploy and track Machine Learning models for different business problems.
  • Develop Visualizations on static and real time data to present Data Insights
  • Data mining, Data scrapping and data wrangling using state-of-the-art methods such as data.table, dplyr and pandas.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain NLP engines for topic modeling and word embedding.
  • Introduce innovative solutions to solve complex data challenges.
  • Author and adopt best practices, patterns around Big Data Technology stack.
  • Participate in technology evaluation through Proof-of-Concepts with partners.
  • Build strong working relationships with Data Product owners, architects & developers.
  • Provide expert technical feedback/collaboration with central big data platform team and other enterprise groups.
  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in an effective manner using markdowns and notebooks.
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
  • Creating time series based forecasting models and tracking their performance.
Candidate Description
List of skills required
  • Strong Mathematics and Statistics  concepts
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms both supervised and unsupervised.
  • Expertise in ensemble models, Neural Network and Deep learning systems.
  • Excellent understanding of NLP techniques such as tf-idf, bag of words, word embedding and topic modelling.
  • Excellent understanding of time series based models such as ARIMA etc. Excellent understanding of anomaly detection systems.
  • Hands-on development experience with Linux, Map Reduce, Java, R, Python, Pig, Hive etc
  • Familiarity with SQL Interfaces for Hadoop like Impala.
  • Understanding of the Modeling concepts with respect to Transactional & Warehouse Systems.
  • Exposure to agile development processes and practices required.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits.
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3, GGplot, etc.
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase {{depending on project needs}}
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Good scripting and programming skills

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • 10 - 13 Years Industry experience and at least 5+years as a Data Scientist
