Role Description
 
The Workplace Solutions Systems group is seeking an experienced and talented individual contributor manager to help lead a development team with  designing and building next generation web based solutions for use across Fidelity Benefits Marketplace (FBM) application suites.  This individual will be expected to work closely with application owners, WS Architecture and business sponsors to gather requirements, create technical designs and implement the solutions in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate is an expert on server and client-side application development using Java web technologies.
 
The successful candidate will be expected to be a part of the WS FBM team in India and would be responsible for working as a Technical Manager.
 
Key responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for deployment and delivery to meet budget, scope and timeline goals. 
  • Work with business sponsor to understand requirements and then develop system and technical designs.
  • Act as a liaison between the Systems Analyst and developers to produce solutions.
  • Ensure code is maintainable, scalable, built for ease of use, and performs optimally.
  • Developing and testing across multiple browsers and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot problems and work with peer teams to resolve.
  • Provides estimates and feasibility of features.  Work with project managers to plan projects and coordinate development activities
  • Responsible for post-installation issues and problem solving.  Provides application support for key applications; may serve as on call resources to support the organization’s service and escalation model

 

Candidate Description

 
  • Strong software design and programming fundamentals
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and formulate recommendations
  • Strong web related J2EE skills Java 8, JSP,JDK 1.8,JVM, Spring, Struts.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript is required.
  • Experience with popular JavaScript toolkits (jQuery, Backbone, Angular.js) desired
  • Experience with client-side MVC frameworks desired
  • SOAP / JSON / WSDL / XSD
  • Linux/Windows Shell Scripting;bash, powershell, curl, perl, python
  • Development builds tools (Maven / Ant / Grunt)
  • Testing frameworks (SOATest, Protractor/Selenium, JUnit, Mockito, Spring Test, etc.)
  • Software Quality frameworks (Sonar, PMD, Findbugs, Checkstyle)
  • AWS or Azure Cloud Services: APIs, Frameworks, virtualization
  • Strong understanding of software lifecycle, including waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and formulate recommendations
  • Ability to work effectively in global team distributed across geographic locations: North Carolina, New England, India
  • Strong collaboration, communication and business relationship skills and experience with mid-large project team
  • Strong written, presentation, problem solving and facilitation skills, motivated, self-directed, results oriented
  • Sense of ownership and commitment to the user experience
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple projects
