Job Title – Senior Lead – Data Engineer People Analytics

This person is a member of the People Analytics team, which provides actionable insights using Employee’s data. We use techniques and concepts related to Data Science, Statistical Modelling, Data mining/Predictive analytics and other analytical techniques to support strategic decision making. Our day-to-day work involves developing complex modelling that serves business needs, and helping HR maximize the company's investment in people.

The Purpose of This Role

The ideal candidate would be responsible for expanding, scaling the data pipeline architecture. The candidate should be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoy optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will help our data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure that data delivery architecture is optimal and consistent throughout all the ongoing projects.

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements and are suitable for analysis and statistical modelling.

  • Build the required data infrastructure and in extracting, cleaning, and loading data from wide variety of data sources using SQL and Cloud technologies.

  • Work on creating relational data models, tables and optimizing data base schema.

  • Building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

  • Communicate issues and status to all levels of the organization, including senior management

  • You will participate in architecture, technical design, and product implementation discussions.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioural

  • Proficiency in SQL

  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark

  • A solid experience and understanding of designing and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse is a must.

  • Strong experience with relational database technologies (Oracle SQL & PL/SQL or similar RDBMS), preferably Snowflake.

  • Strong expertise in all aspects of data movement technologies (ETL/ELT) and experience with schedulers.

  • Experience in migrating On-prem databases to AWS Cloud & Snowflake using AWS services like EC2, S3, EMR

  • You should be having an experience in Data Lake implementation in Snowflake

  • Knowledge and expertise of data modelling techniques and standard methodologies (Relational, Dimensional), plus any experience with Data modelling tools (e.g., PowerDesigner).

  • Prior experience with Data ingestion tool sets (e.g., Apache NiFi, Kafka) is advantageous.

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

  • Scripting/coding experience in any of the following: Python, Unix, Java.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Tableau Dashboards

  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) is a plus

  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

  • Able to work collaboratively with a geographically diverse team.

Analytics, Research & Data (ARD), established in 2006, is a fast-growing, vibrant team within FMR India that provides capabilities like Data Science & AI, Investment Research and Customer and Competitive Insights. This role is part of the People Analytics Team under Enterprise HR of Fidelity Investments. The team is established in 2012 and has done several cutting-edge work in the space of Data Sciences. You will help team in creating the data infrastructure.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience with organizations known for cutting edge/ best-in-class applications relevant to data engineering and related technologies.

  • Engineering/Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science/Information Technology)

Shift timings: 11:00 am – 8:00pm
