Job Title Squad Leader

The Purpose of This Role

As a Fixed Income Squad Leaders, you blend investment management and technical expertise with a passion for delivering results. As the Squad Leader, you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on specific product features. You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

The Value You Deliver

  • Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to motivate and establish team and partner support and alignment
  • Contribute to the Product Roadmap by brining in full transparency around product capabilities being built and influence identification of new capabilities
  • Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
  • Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria
  • Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
  • Measuring performance against established objectives that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning
  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
  • Contribute to ideation.

  • Strong expertise in the Fixed Income domain is a must to deliver best business outcomes through a very complex set of applications and business processes
  • Take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
  • Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate these
  • Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams
  • Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working
  • Establish and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work multi-functionally across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach
  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
  • Committed to developing a balance of technology and non-technology skills to fully appreciate the broad needs of our customers
  • Proven experience with minimum viable product definition and product backlog management

Asset Management Technology (AM Tech) is the business unit that is responsible for delivering innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enable Fidelity’s Investment & Asset Management business to achieve competitive advantage globally. AM Tech is an integral partner in setting Asset Management's strategic direction and has shared accountability for achieving Asset Management goals. AM Tech is global organization of technologists based in the United States, London, India, and Ireland. Supporting multiple business function in Investment Management and Advisory domain like Portfolio Management, Research & Trading.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field; CFA / CFP designation or post-graduate degree in finance or a related field a plus
  • 3 years awareness of Agile delivery environments and 6+ years of experience in end-to-end technology solution delivery
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions
  • Financial services experience, preferred
  • Jira and Jira Align experience preferred
  • Experience in Asset Management industry is preferred
