Diversity & Inclusion

CELEBRATING THE DIFFERENCES THAT DEFINE US.

At Fidelity Investments India, we are proud of our diverse and inclusive workplace where we respect and value all associates for their unique perspectives and experiences. Here, our differences define us and create better discussions, drive innovative thinking and inspire collaboration to better serve our customers, develop our associates and strengthen our communities.

Diversity & Inclusion

In India, we are focused on ensuring gender, generational, cultural and cognitive diversity at the workplace. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone is welcome and celebrated.

Our programs and initiatives include:

  • RESUME: Our flagship program to re-integrate women on a career break back into the workforce.
  • Affinity groups: Fidelity’s nine affinity groups are self-organized groups of associates with common interests in areas such as race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, or who share similar interests based on similar sets of experiences, who come together to create a positive and inclusive workplace for all associates.
  • Women in Excellence Program: This is a learning program to enable front-line women managers at Fidelity Investments India to strengthen critical leadership skills for a fulfilling and successful career.

We also believe in creating a strong ecosystem of support for our diversity and inclusion initiatives, through continuous education and awareness workshops for all associates and our manager community.

We think broadly about how to support and promote diverse perspectives not only at our firm, but across the industry. We have been active participants in leading industry conferences such as the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Technology, and India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM)’s Diversity and Inclusion Summit, among others.

As an equal opportunity employer, we have made strides in expanding our diversity and inclusion focus on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community as well as people with disability.

DIVERSIFICATION IS MORE THAN AN INVESTMENT STRATEGY

Diversity is key to Fidelity’s financial success and ensuring we have a thriving workforce.

RESUME:
A WORKFORCE RE-ENTRY PROGRAM FOR WOMEN.

Our RESUME program offers a six-month internship opportunity to women who are on a career break but are looking to re-enter the workforce.

RESUME provides candidates mentorship and development opportunities to learn and integrate into project teams. Associates also get to work on live business projects and learn from functional experts.

Why RESUME?

RESUME is a great platform to restart your career journey. The program offers opportunities across our businesses including operations, technology & analytics as well as across grades. During the initial six month period, both the selected participants and the Firm get an opportunity to experience working with each other.

How does the program work?

Fidelity provides the selected participants mentorship and development opportunities to learn and integrate into project teams. Participants get to work on live business projects and learn from functional experts. The participants also get exposure to community initiatives at the Firm and an opportunity to be a part of other employee engagement initiatives, which bolster their readiness towards final selection as full-time employees.

During the six months, the participants’ managers set detailed goals for them and conduct strong mentorship and regular performance check-ins. The participants also build networks by undergoing training on technical and professional competencies, engaging in community impact initiatives through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) program Fidelity Cares, and participating in other initiatives as well.

Owing to the program being cohort-based, it fosters a lot of peer learning. In addition, the holistic nature of the program covering diverse aspects including mentorship, hands-on projects, formal training, and peer learning helps build confidence in the participants and results in a large number of them securing roles with the Firm post the six-month period. Participants also have access to a strong buddy network of alumni as part of the program, thus enabling a faster learning curve for them.

During the six months, the participants get paid and receive benefits similar to full-time employees. All participants contribute to live business projects and undergo technical and functional mentorship.
