Job Title – Lead – Software Engineering
The Purpose of This Role
This role, as part of the WI QA group, will be critical in supporting development of our capabilities relative to automation including: supporting execution of our Web / WebServices automation road map, working with team members to develop infrastructure and tools required across multiple technology stacks, working within guidelines and offering suggestions relative to governance procedures and overall development standards.

This is both a hands on role where you need to engage in developing test automation solutions in latest technologies, lead the automation code reviews and coding standards for newer projects . You will work closely with Architects , Dev and Business stakeholders forming future QA blue prints of all our applications.

Translating business and systems requirements into technical requirements for automation and software tools

Designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining automated tests and software tools

Adhering to software engineering principals in development of automation and software

Understanding and applying test driven design concepts to test and debug automated solutions and software utilities developed by self and others.

Delivering accurate and maintainable code for automation and software utilities.

Collaborating with other technical resources to:

Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards.

Design and develop automation and software tools.

Understand requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform.

You will spearhead the automation coverage for a given system including building a CI-CD pipeline to help achieve a frictionless digital experience

How Your Work Impacts the Organization
The primary objective of the Workplace Solutions team is to enable the WI business in the US, while working with IT business partners in the US in a well-integrated way. WI comprises five business lines – Defined Contributions, Defined Benefits, Stock Plan Services and Health Care Group and Health Savings Account. Over the past 10 years the WS team has developed technical expertise on various functions within each business line of Workplace investments, across strategic new products and within data engineering.
The Expertise We’re Looking For

5 – 10 years of Quality Engineering experience
-
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or other related field.
-
Good knowledge in ETL/ELT.
-
Very strong in databases testing and SQL skills and hands-on experience is building complex SQL queries required for ETL Database, Data warehouse testing and data validations.
-
Good programming skills on Python
-
Data analysis, identifying data patterns, data flows and trends.
-
Good to have basics of Unix and Shell Scripting
-
Good knowledge on Job Scheduling services like informatica, data pipeline, oozie and airflow.
-
Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for file systems, data pipelines, databases and other related components.
-
Collaborate with data engineers and data analyst to understand data requirement and ensure quality throughout the data life cycle.

Define and execute test plans for ETL/ELT processes.
-
Identify and prioritize critical data quality issues in the system.
-
Good knowledge about the enterprise data lake concepts.
-
Document and communicate the identified defects to relevant stakeholders.
-
Utilize various tools and technologies to monitor , measure and report on both functionality and non-functionality aspects of data pipelines.

Worked in Agile methodologies.

Good exposure to BDD tools such as behave/ cucumber.

Hands on experience in Github, JIRA, Xray, Jenkins
