Job Title – Director – Architecture

The Purpose of This Role

As a domain & industry expert in Digital Assets and Software Engineering, you will lead the business architecture efforts within the Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) Technology team at FMR India. Your focus will be on shaping technology & product strategies and solutions for Alternative Investments and Digital Assets. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Leaders, Architects, and Analysts to assess the current state, identify gaps, and define the future state of core platforms to accelerate product delivery. Additionally, you will evaluate emerging technologies, analyze digital assets industry trends, and work closely with Asset Management teams to understand their needs. You will oversee the design and integration of new product offerings within the fund’s middle and back-office platforms. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of blockchain technology, NFTs, staking, and other decentralized finance (DeFi) mechanisms, with an ability to implement these technologies within an asset management context

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap for digital assets, focusing on innovation and scalability within the blockchain and DeFi spaces.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of digital asset technologies into existing financial products and services. Collaborate with architects and business leaders to drive optimal architecture solutions.

  • Stay at the forefront of blockchain and digital asset trends, continuously researching new technologies, protocols, and platforms that could benefit the organization. Lead exploratory projects to develop proofs of concept (PoCs) for innovative digital asset applications

  • Coach & mentor architects & teams on Asset Management and FFIO business capabilities.

  • Shape and implement strategies for Alternative Investments (Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Multi Asset Liquid Alternatives)

  • Provide understanding of tokenization strategies for various asset classes, leveraging blockchain to unlock liquidity and enhance investment opportunities

  • Provide understanding of interoperability between different blockchain networks to support cross-chain asset transfers, staking, and trading. Build expertise in teams on end-to-end digital asset management solutions, including custody, compliance, and transaction tracking, running on secure and scalable blockchain

  • Provide technical guidance on staking mechanisms, yield farming strategies, and other DeFi components to optimize returns on digital assets & risk management

Technical / Behavioral

  • A thought leader in technology and domain expertise, fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation.

  • Proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying blockchain-based solutions, particularly in the asset management or financial services industry

  • Relevant exposure & understanding of NFTs, staking, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and other DeFi protocols

  • Strong understanding of blockchain consensus mechanisms (e.g., Proof of Work, Proof of Stake) and their implications for digital asset management.

  • Expertise in blockchain technologies, including but not limited to Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain

  • Experience with decentralized finance platforms and tools, such as Uniswap, Aave, or Compound.

  • Knowledge of token standards (e.g., ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) and their application in digital asset projects

  • Strategic thinker capable of defining strategies and roadmaps aligned with domain and product goals

  • Expertise in event processing, RESTful API design, distributed architecture patterns, and high-transaction trading integrations. Proficiency with frameworks like Spring and Angular.

  • Hands-on experience with Jave-J2EE and cloud technologies (AWS EC2, S3, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, AWS Batch, Lambda, Elasticsearch)

  • Solid knowledge of engineering, continuous delivery practices & building large scalable resilient platforms

  • Experience in complex data environments, enterprise architecture, master data management, and data integration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences

  • Strong collaboration skills, capable of building cross-functional partnerships at all levels

  • Intellectually curious, innovative, and resilient

Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations Technology (FFIO Tech) is the business unit that is responsible for delivering innovative, scalable, industry-leading tools that enable the three core domains viz., Investment Operations, Global Middle Office and Fund Oversight. FFIO Technology products support and enable our front office activities within Asset Management through various critical business processes like Reference Data, Fund Performance, Cash and Positions, Net Asset Values, Tax and Shareholder Reporting. FFIO Tech India is an integral part of the global FFIO Technology organization.

You are going to lead team Architects who are playing global role and impact critical programs and initiatives of FFIO with their technology solutions.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of IT experience

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field ideally combined with an advanced technical degree

Shift timings: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
