Job Description:
Job Title – Lead System Engineer – Grade 5
The Lead System Engineer will ensure the system stability of both on-premise and cloud applications.
The Purpose of This Role
- Work along with the Dev team to maintain critical business applications.
- Support migration of applications to cloud.
- Contribute and follow engineering best practices
- Manage Dev/Ops for non-prod environments
The Value You Deliver
- Will be part of Production support on-call and related core processes.
- Will be driving Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, BCP/DR, Batch Monitoring, Application and Infrastructure support functions.
- Will get complete ownership and accountability to maintain Production stability
- Will have to collaborate with peers and the leadership team on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements and opportunities to improve the customer service experience.
- Would get opportunities to innovate and provide solutions to Automation and Continuous Integration and Deployment processes
- Would get opportunities to learn and support application components on Cloud
- Should be able to able to understand the existing systems, code and propose fixes for issues.
- Constantly find newer and better ways to achieve operational excellence.

Technical / Behavioural
- Strong knowledge on UNIX Scripts
- Strong knowledge on Control-M
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle incident bridge calls and crisis situations to mitigate incident impact.
- Experience in incident management and problem management.
- SQL & PL/SQL – Expertise in writing and debugging/Trouble shooting skills on SQL and PL-SQL code, Stored Procedures, Functions & Triggers
- Good understanding of Observability
- Strong knowledge on release and change management
- Ability to understand the business criticality of various applications as they relate to sophisticated business processes.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology
- Good communication skills
- Team Player
- Quick Learner
The Skills that are Good To Have for this role
- Basic Understanding / knowledge on cloud technologies like AWS
- Presentation skills
- Knowledge of Capital Markets
- DevOps experience (Udeploy/Jenkins, good to have)
- Debugging skills for java applications.
