The Purpose of This Role

The Lead Data Engineer will assist in design, work independently on development and implementation using best practices for data integration, which includes cloud and/or traditional infrastructure technologies. Your role will be to deliver data centric data integration solutions with transformation logic to be consumed by our customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to mentor technical peers is encouraged.  You will be responsible for working with the Data Architects, Business Analysts, Customers and Solution Architects when integrating data with end to end development activities.

  • Strong experience of working in large teams and proven technical leadership capabilities
  • Knowledge of Enterprise level implementations like Data warehouse, Automated solutions.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and work with business peers and management.
  • Ability to develop and drive a strategy as per the needs of the team
  • Good to have: Programming knowledge

Technical / Behavioral

  • RMDS experience (Snowflake, PostgreSQL ) – required
  • Designing and developing low to moderate complex data integration solution – required
  • Hands on experience of ETL/ELT tools (Informatica / Nifi / Snaplogic) – required
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms and Services (AWS – IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS ) – required
  • Knowledge of data streaming tools like Kafka – required
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques – Preferred
  • RDBMS experience (Oracle, MySQL and others) – preferred
  • Knowledge of non-RDBMS databases like Graph, No-SQL, Timeseries databases– preferred
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts – preferred
  • Advanced data manipulation languages and frameworks (JAVA, PYTHON, JSON) – preferred

  • Ability to work in an Agile team structure.
  • Ability to gather customer requirements and make design decisions.
  • Ability to mentor junior data engineers.
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple projects within different contexts in a fast-paced environment

  • You know Job Scheduling Technologies like Autosys or Crontab
