Job Description:

As a Global Squad Leader and Product Owner, you will lead a next-generation DevOps and DataOps team responsible for platform engineering and administration for all PaaS offerings for Wealth & Brokerage’s analytical data and business intelligence platforms. As an integral part of Retail Analytical Data Platform (RADP) cluster in Wealth’s CKSI Domain you will work with other Data SLs and PAL to deliver on strategic initiatives. You would play a hands-on role in defining the ‘What’ for critical service offerings like platform Observability, automations, FinOps, Orchestration, BI solutions, ETL & CI/CD pipelines. You will also be familiar with and actively monitor cloud-native services, Snowflake latest features,  Orchestration solutions, BI Tools, Containerization, and commercial third-party offerings, to understand how emerging technologies could be used to enhance the platforms for faster data delivery, cost efficiencies and enhanced performance.

The Purpose of This Role

Lead a Global Squad that owns the Dev and Data Ops Operations for Wealth & Brokerage Analytical Platform. This is a leadership role which calls for strong DevOps, BI, Databases, Cloud, and platform deployment capabilities to support the Datawarehouse that powers wealth & brokerage analytical insights across the Fidelity enterprise. This role will be multidisciplinary across data & cloud engineering, software development, and automation.

The Value You Deliver

  • Owning and driving the DevOps and DataOps programs, supporting PI’s Analytical and AI needs across 5000+ internal customers and a rapidly growing data science community
  • Owning & managing BI Tools Administration (Tableau and AtScale) for Wealth & Brokerage users (33K userbase)
  • Own platform hardening and Cloud FinOps for Wealth & Brokerage Snowflake environment (200 TB+)
  • Provide critical orchestration, ETL & CI/CD services on cloud (5K jobs Approx. developed by 300+ developers using CI/CD pipelines)
  • Partnering with the RDAP cluster to prioritize and mobilize on specific business scenarios.
  • Leading a team of Data & DevOps Engineers collaborating with the Product Area Leader and other Squad Leads to maintain an integrated roadmap of capabilities, use cases, and quarterly execution plans.
  • Leading the Data and Dev Ops teams using agile methodologies and playing a hands-on role in defining the ‘What’ for the scrum team to design, develop, test and deploy enhancements of applications on next generation cloud enabled data analytics platforms.
  • Work closely with Architecture, DBAs, and engineers in defining the technical roadmap, FinOps, high availability and resiliency requirements.

  • Expertise in driving platform strategies and roadmaps for DevOps, Containerization, Orchestration, CI/CD, BI Tools etc. for highly scaled, cloud-hosted data platforms and applications
  • Advanced knowledge in data taxonomy, data lineage and data streaming.
  • Experience in evaluating and making decisions on platforms and tools for advanced data warehousing and business intelligence applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical audiences.
  • Great collaboration skills, being able to build and establish strong cross-functional

partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization.

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Streams, Kubernetes, Control-M, AWS services (EKS, SNS, SQS, S3 etc), ETL Tools.
  • Proven experience in managing complex data platforms and designing critical technical solutions for large scale platforms for scale, resiliency, and performance.
  • Deep understanding of BI Tools & their administration – Tableau, PowerBI, AtScale.
  • Relevant experience in DataOps for data analysis & governance.
  • Relevant experience in Data Security & role-based access policies.
  • Seasoned expertise in DevOps automation (continuous integration, continuous delivery).
  • Exposure to Wealth & Brokerage domain & data modelling is good to have.
  • Proven experience in defining and implementing engineering standards & best practices, driving culture of innovation, and bringing cost optimisation through FinOps practices.
  • Proficiency and experience with Agile practices, processes, and artifacts.
  • Proven experience in problem management, incident management, change & release management processes and troubleshooting critical prod issues.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

  • This Squad is responsible for managing the core Analytical Platforms for All Analytics, Reporting and Data Science work across Wealth & Brokerage. The Snowflake based EDL consists of 200+ terabytes of data across multiple businesses of Fidelity, over 30+ subject areas and supporting 10+ Business Critical applications including Campaign Management, Integrated Marketing Measurement, Finance Reporting, AI use cases (over 200+ models supporting Social Analysis, Wealth Management, Retirement, College education etc.), Sales and ServiceAnalytics (focused on call reduction, call routing etc.), Planning and Advice and Self Service BI.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience in building and leading teams focused on large scale databases, advanced analytics, Cloud based solution, cloud native databases and AI services on AWS.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of product management experience with enterprise level software – emphasis on Cloud hosted data lakes, AWS based AI services like Sagemaker, streaming, EKS and batch data integration.
  • Advanced degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Statistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, or related technical fields.
