The Purpose of This Role

Fidelity Brokerage is a newly formed division of Fidelity Investments that is dedicated to optimizing, modernizing, and personalizing the self-directed customer experience of financial investing. The business is focused on providing an industry-leading offering to meet the evolving needs of our retail customers, including our trading capabilities, digital assets and digital user experience.

Our teams build and contribute to Fidelity Investments digital presence. As a developer, you will help us build a user experience and the underlying platforms needed to support our digital presence.

You’ll craft, own, build and support features at every stage of the software development lifecycle for a world class web experience. Your ideas will improve our products as well as develop your skills, learn new technologies and languages, and continue to learn. We're looking for highly motivated individuals who work well in a collaborative, iterative, mission critical, and fast-paced environment.

Technical / Behavioral

  • You embrace customer-first mentality and enjoy developing user-friendly web applications that solve real life problems
  • Critical problem-solving skills
  • Passionate, opinionated about writing clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code with a test-first development approach
  • Strong expertise with developing features for our web experiences using Angular and Microservices in NodeJS/NestJS/GraphQL.
  • Node JS, Angular 13+, Cloud, Dev Ops, Jenkins,( Good to Have – ChartIQ and Streaming)
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and driving automation and engineering maturity
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Strong experience using nodeJS as a UI backend
  • Good experience scaling NodeJs applications
  • Good exposure to working with streaming data
  • Strong experience with Angular 13+, RxJS, Redux/NgRx and TypeScript,NX
  • Experience with micro front end architectural patterns.
  • Expertise with test automation tools and frameworks e.g. Cypress, Playwright, Jest and Storybook
  • Working with our product team to ensure we are building the right features based on scope and customer value
  • Contributing back to the team by developing solutions that help improve developer efficiency or sharing knowledge about new techniques and technologies.

  • Stay on top of Algorithms, Data Structures and Design Patterns and love the challenge of building highly scalable systems that can support thousands of transactions/sec 
  • Have a mindset of test first development and are experienced in modern test frameworks. We believe in testing and that quality is everyone’s job 
  • Are data-driven and can measure, collect and use data to make decisions. We understand the value of intuition and the need to balance decisions accordingly. 
  • Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in meaningful discussions.
