Job Title – Associate Systems Engineer
The Purpose of This Role
Packaging and Profile management is an integral part of End User Computing within Associate IT (EUC). This group is responsible for the complete packaging of applications that are installed in Fidelity environment. They will be responsible for supporting packaging, repackaging, profile management, customer communication, coordinating with customers for requirements collection and smoke testing. This position is also responsible for packaging apps for desktop environment and Citrix Server environment, applications, and the environment that they run on. This will include customer management, vendor co-ordination, change management, incident management on call support, cross site coordination and troubleshooting.

The End User system engineer is a core member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team working on systems engineering and delivery of end user computing client environments. In this role, the engineer works in collaboration with team to:

Engineer and implement robust and cost-effective computing environments, exploiting emerging technologies and innovative ideas to provide compelling client solutions

Document and communicate engineering and operational deliverables

Lifecycle Management of packages

Assist with the evaluation and engineering of software products and technologies and provide recommendations regarding selection and adoption, backed by rigorous analysis and justification.

Assist with pilots for new packaging products and technologies, analyze the value and impacts from technical perspectives, and effectively communicate results and recommendations.

Assist and collaborate with IT partners in projects to enable users and applications to take full advantage of new / enhanced solutions.

Assist and collaborate in the application solution delivery efforts in the design and development of solutions incorporating new and/or approved technologies, by contributing to engineering decisions, and characterizing designs and implementation approaches in a controlled environment to ensure they meet desired operational goals (performance, stability, scalability, usability, manageability etc).

Technical / Behavioral

Knowledge of Windows Operating system including Registries, File system, Environment variables, services, and commonly used DOS commands.

Good knowledge of Windows Installer, MSI Installation technology.

Hands on experience in PowerShell and VB Scripting.

Microsoft Technologies domain experience in both desktop and server environment.

Troubleshooting on Windows environment.

Intune and company portal experience is an added advantage.

Knowledge of file security and permissions, Windows Registry, System Services.

Experience in application virtualization technologies.
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

Understanding of Windows registry, files system, folder structure and User Profiles concepts

Knowledge on SCCM and Intune application deployments and troubleshooting
