Job Title: Senior Analyst – Quality Assurance

The Purpose of This Role

The Core responsibility of Quality Control (QC) function is to review transactions to see if it has been processed under set documented procedures and validate completeness & accuracy of the work performed. Identify & highlight process, procedure & control gaps, Standardization opportunities & make recommendations to close those gaps. QC also involves in identifying key risk areas for business and works with the relevant partners in minimizing the risk. Quality Control exists as a Primary control and ensures processing teams operate in a controlled environment. This environment promotes awareness of risk and advises operations of high-risk areas. QC also supervises and ensures that the existing controls are accurate and effective. QC validates the transaction from E2E Perspective.

The Value You Deliver

  • Independently audit DB Calculations by building the Calculations manually using plain excel sheets referring the plan rules and identifying errors, process gaps & system issues, if any.

  • Candidates with Defined Benefits (CALC/ER/DB FINOPS/Qualifications) process experience of at least 5 years.

  • The role involves independent auditing of Calculations, DB Employee Resolution, DB Finops & Qualifications (which include the Retiree Admin and Legal Administration process)

  • Identifying errors and process gaps

  • This is an Individual Contributor role reporting to a Delivery Manager/Sr. Delivery Manager

  • Share feedback on the errors and supervise it to closure

  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency of audits.

  • Engagement and collaboration with Front Line Managers – take part in Dispute meetings.

  • Share observations and analysis with the Operations Management team as needed.

  • Developing, recommending, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions (To review and analyze the effectiveness of the modifications made).

  • Recommend process and policy improvements to reduce costs and inefficiencies by eliminating inconsistencies and variation.

  • Act as an impetus for change and improvement in performance/quality.

  • Assist other team members when needed.

  • Maintaining complete records of all communications and correspondence relating to the audit process

  • Timely and accurate (daily, weekly & monthly) Reporting of statistics to the target audience and management.

  • Attend QC Team Meetings, Virtual team meetings, Calibration meeting – ready to participate, learn, and apply.

  • Support additional initiatives and efforts of the QC team as necessary to achieve department objectives

  • Reporting: Client reporting, delivery status reporting and meeting all other communication needs of the organization

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

  • Good experience in the areas of research and analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, testing and validation

  • Well versed in MS excel and MS Access.

  • In depth understanding of DBCS and related DB applications

  • Ability to articulate the issues/ errors (even in global forums)

  • Should be able to handle process/ client specific disputes

  • Knowledge on SQL queries is an added advantage

  • Work positively with the teams across operations to share standard methodologies and maintain open and frequent communication

  • Recommend process improvements to increase quality and customer happiness

  • Apply analytical skills to assist in reporting, trending, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Demonstrate and continuously improve communication and coaching skills

  • Support/implement new initiatives/projects as directed by the Quality and Control team.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in Defined Benefits Calculation process.

  • US Defined Benefits domain knowledge

  • Fair understanding of the DB regulations – 415B limit, 409A, MRD & others

  • Well versed with DBCS application – different screens & fields

  • Ability to navigate through the plan rules and understand and interpret the actuarial language-based rules to manually build the calculation in plain excel sheet

  • Audit DB operations calculation work items as per OLR Procedures, Plan Rules and Client/ Fidelity approved resources.

  • Ability to build calculations manually for multiple DB Calc Clients (refereeing plan rules based on the data in DBCS without any macros), with minimum learning curve.

  • Ability to clearly articulate the error & action required
