Job Title: Vice President – Technology

Role Definition

Fidelity Brokerage Technology – India, is looking for Vice President – Technology. This is a senior leadership position who will be owning and accountable for the software engineering function for Business deliverables. Incumbent will lead engineering teams, drive technical innovation, and align technical strategies with overall business goals. It is a crucial role that ensures the successful development and delivery of software products or solutions.

We are looking for a person with significant experience in developing & leading engineering solution and delivery for financial services industry in India and Globally. They have likely demonstrated exceptional technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects. They are also expected to have experience in manging global stakeholders, hiring and building a team of highly skilled and committed technologists.

Role Expectations

  • Manage and build a high performing team that delivers new products and solutions that helps enhancing Customer experience, drives innovation and creates new revenue opportunity for the firm.
  • Establish, deliver, and refine a platform engineering roadmap to ensure that all platforms and products remain current, deliver value to product engineering teams, and supports the needs of internal stakeholders in terms of scalability, resilience, security, capacity, and operational maintenance.
  • Provide thought leadership to the team and firm in terms of leveraging emerging technologies to improve business outcome and customer delight.
  • Provide technology platform expertise across the Brokerage organization as required, to support management teams and general development activities in building complex, dynamic products and services.
  • Working with Product Engineering, Architecture, and Operations Teams to provide an in-depth evaluation of evolving and mature technologies, help shape the customer technology roadmap, and facilitate the delivery of the business strategy.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously, while balancing business priorities and quality.
  • The ability to scale resources, skills, and work with an offshore technology partner to balance onshore offshore capability.

The Skills that are Key to this role

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Extensive experience and technical engineering knowledge of a broad range of platforms and web based/cloud and distributed solution, stretching across platforms, financial products, emerging technology standards, and trends, including defining platform roadmaps and long-term strategic plans.
    • A deep understanding of the latest software engineering principles and practices, staying updated with the latest advancements in the field.
    • Must have 15 plus years of hands-on development experience building solutions on distributed architecture with deep understanding of API management solutions, microservices, and system integration.
    • Strong and demonstrable experience of working with CI/CD pipeline and supporting technologies. • Proven experience of API platform management. Have built / managed & delivered solution on cloud with experience on Java, J2EE
  • Industry Experience: Working experience with Technology product and services organization on financial services industry solutioning.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Thinking: The capacity to think strategically and align technical initiatives with overall business objectives, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex technical challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Team Development: The capability to mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performing and motivated team.
  • Adaptability: The flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends, embracing innovation and driving technical excellence.
  • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of financial services industry, its business principles, market dynamics and customer needs. Preferably Trading, Brokerage, Payments, Wealth management

This team works to provide technology solution for Business units engaged in providing Brokerage, Institutional, Wealth management and Mutual Funds solution. This is a global team that develop solution in partnership with global teams working together cross border and locally. This team is managed by several other VP – Technology in India, taking care of engineering & delivery across several product lines of Brokerage solutions.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 20+ years of experience in end-to-end technology solution delivery
  • BE / MCA / MTech
  • Experience in Brokerage industry is desirable.
  • Fungible to work and lead across organization.
